The Maryland Alumni Association maintains and supports a network
of Alumni Advocates across Maryland. These business and community
leaders help raise awareness about the importance of higher education
and promote the university's achievements and initiatives to elected
officials. Alumni Advocates attend special programs in Annapolis
during the General Assembly session, meet one-on-one with legislators
and organize alumni-hosted legislative receptions around the state.
Meet your Alumni Advocacy Committee
Members who appreciate your efforts.
On Tuesday, February 19, 2008, the University of Maryland held
its tenth annual Terrapin Pride Day—our lobby day in Annapolis.
Hundreds of other Maryland supporters including alumni, students,
faculty and staff joined us as we rallied on behalf of the campus
and made our voices heard in Annapolis. More information about the
event can be found at http://www.president.umd.edu/LCR/TPD/.
